SLEEPY HOLLOW – One boy was taken to an area hospital after he and another boy were struck by a vehicle Monday night, fire officials said.
The two boys, who were between ages 10 and 15, might have been skateboarding when they were struck about 8:45 p.m. near the intersection of Locust and Hillcrest drives in Sleepy Hollow, Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Bob Brogan said.
Firefighters took one of the boys to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Brogan said.
Brogan would not comment on the extent of the boy’s injuries, but said the boy was conscious at the scene.
The other boy, Brogan said, was treated at the scene and released to his parents.
Sleepy Hollow police were not immediately available to comment Tuesday.
