No one injured after car veers into pond in Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE – A motorist ended up in a pond after swerving to avoid a collision with another vehicle Monday evening near the intersection of Sands Road and Terrace Drive in Crystal Lake.

Police and firefighters were called about 9:30 p.m. Monday to 4447 Route 14 for a report that a vehicle was in the pond in front of the Oakbrook Estates manufactured home neighborhood near Home Depot.

The driver of the car was able to get out of the vehicle, and no on was injured in the incident, Crystal Lake Police Sgt. Mark Szumanski said.

On Tuesday, Whitey’s Towing Inc. workers used scuba equipment to hook cables to the car and remove it from the pond.
