Scattered thunderstorms in McHenry and surrounding counties are likely Thursday evening, with the greatest risk between 4 and 8 p.m., according to a hazardous weather outlook from the National Weather Service.
Golf ball-sized hail and winds up to 60 mph are potential risks, according to the outlook.
Temperatures for Thursday night in McHenry County are expected to be in the upper 50s.
About 4:20 p.m. Thursday, the watch was elevated to a severe thunderstorm warning, which expired at 4:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
