ROYAL OAK FARM ORCHARD 20TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT

COST and INFO: Featuring contemporary Christian artist Chuck Girard (above). As a teen, Girard formed The Castells, which had two national hits. He has shared the stage with singers such as Roy Orbison, Jan and Dean, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Vee, Jackie Wilson, Brenda Lee and others. The co-founder and lead singer of Love Song, Girard played with the group three years before he released his first solo album. One of the most recognized – “Sometimes Alleluia” – was among the hits at the time. The concert is free. From Sept. 8-10, the orchard also will be offering 20 percent off u-pick apples. Featuring Amaze ‘N Apples, believed to be the only apple tree maze in the country, and a variety of children’s activities, Royal Oak Orchard is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. No admission or parking fees. Tokens must be bought for various activities. The maze costs 2 tokens or $6 a person and includes a trip through, activities in the Activity Area and the picking of two ripe apples. The maze closes one hour prior to all else.
