To the Editor:
It’s exciting to see the effect of Hispanic players in the boys high school soccer programs in our area.
Soccer is, as I understand it, the sport of choice in Mexico, passed down from generation to generation. Especially for those children, who perhaps followed their parents to the U.S. in search of better lives, it must have been difficult transitioning to so many things, especially school.
But now these lads are succeeding in soccer, and, as a result, surely are enjoying a new level of popularity, and respect, from classmates and teachers alike.
