HUNTLEY – A 24-year-old Algonquin man accused of kicking a police officer in the face remained at the McHenry County Jail on Tuesday evening.
According to court records, Sean Mara, of the 1300 block of Surrey Court, was interfering with a Huntley police investigation Sunday. Mara began to pull away from police when they asked him to cooperate, eventually kicking one officer in the face, records show.
Mara is charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer and resisting a peace officer. If convicted of the most serious charge, aggravated battery to a peace officer, Mara could face a three- to seven-year prison sentence.
Mara’s bond is set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear again in court Thursday.
