To the Editor:
It seems that the Coventry House in Harvard is being allowed to fall into demolition by neglect out of fear – fear that the developers won’t bring the promised jobs and money into the county and, in particular, Harvard, if you enforce this ordinance. What way is that to run any organization? The developer knew what it was buying and can afford the repairs. It hasn’t made good on any of its promises to date, so fear that it might continue not to deliver doesn’t make any sense. What does make sense is enforcing the ordinance as written in order to preserve our priceless history and heritage.
