Liz Alsot, a 6-foot senior forward, was one of two players to average a double-double last season with 13 points and 11.7 rebounds a game. Junior guard Izzy Gscheidle, who sank 54 3s last year, averaged 10.7 points, and senior Avalon Henderson averaged eight rebounds and two blocks.
For right now, the Warriors are focused on themselves in what is shaping up to be another competitive conference season. Seven of nine teams in the FVC last season finished with conference records of .500 or better. McHenry beat every one of them except Huntley.
"We're just focusing on ourselves and making sure that we're ready to go," said Alsot, who will play next year at NCAA Division-II University of Indianapolis. "Every year, our expectations get even higher.
"Now it's a 'One team, all-in mentality.' You're 100 percent in, or you're out."
