To the Editor:
I wanted to let the people of Woodstock know that when an emergency arose, I called 911 and was taken to Centegra Hospital – Huntley in about 14 or 15 minutes. That is where my primary care doctor, Dr. Renata Osadnik, is located, and she was the No. 1 person on my mind when I made the call.
Osadnik arranged for so many other doctors to come in and care for me, including Dr. Hafiz and Dr. Gogineni.
Although I’m not happy that the Woodstock hospital closed, in retrospect it really wasn’t that big of a deal for my situation. Now nurses are coming to my house daily for physical therapy and for wound care, so I don’t even have to leave my house for the care I need. My private room at Huntley was fabulous, and I hope all other hospitals go in that direction.
I was very sick, and this whole situation has turned out to be a positive experience in my life. The nursing care was fabulous, and every time I needed someone, a nurse or a nurse’s aide was there. After eight days in the hospital, I’m feeling very good, both physically and mentally right now, and I wanted to thank everyone who cared for me.
After this experience, I feel completely safe living in McHenry County and Woodstock, and I have no worries about getting to the hospital in time.
