The first day to file was Monday, when more than 70 people stood in line to file their petitions, according to the McHenry County Clerk’s Office.
Along with McHenry County Board seats and county offices, there are 212 precinct seats in McHenry County. As of Friday, more than 120 people filed petitions to run as precinct committeemen.
Candidates have until the end of the day Monday to file to run in the March primary. Those who file Monday also will be placed into a lottery for the last spot on the ballot, McHenry County Clerk Mary McClellan said.
