To the Editor:
Yes, Ms. Szramek, there will be a referendum in November, and yes, the taxpayers will have their say as they did when they voted myself and Bob Anderson as trustees in the last election.
May I remind you, we had the two highest trustee votes from the taxpayers during the last election. How would combining the road district into the township be eliminating it?
More so, it means more oversight of the taxpayers’ dollar by the trustees instead of one elected or appointed official and the roads will still be maintained.
I ask you, did the township go to referendum and ask the taxpayers if they wanted a $13 million complex in Johnsburg, where, at most, 9 percent of the residents use it?
Did they post in the newsletter asking residents in McHenry, Wonder Lake, McCullom Lake if they were willing to pick up the expenses of the four parks and rec center in the
SunnySide subdivision as they struggled to maintain their own parks?
