Jacobs pulled closer to its fourth consecutive conference or division championship with a 60-36 victory over Crystal Lake South in their Fox Valley Conference boys basketball game on Saturday at the Eagles' Nest.
Jacobs has won two FVC Valley Division titles, then won the FVC last season. The Golden Eagles (20-3, 12-0 FVC) are three games up on McHenry (17-7, 9-3) with four to play. McHenry fell to Crystal Lake Central, 56-54, in overtime Saturday.
Kameron Mack led Jacobs with 18 points and three 3-pointers. Matt McCoy added eight points with two 3s. South fell to 9-13, 5-7.
Cary-Grove 57, Huntley 48: At Huntley, the Trojans (11-12, 7-6) got 19 points from Beau Frericks and defeated the Red Raiders (5-19, 1-11) in their FVC game.
Ben Ferrell and Frank Jakubicek each scored 10 for C-G. Frericks hit three 3-pointers.
The Raiders fell behind early, 17-4, but battled all the way back to make it a two-point deficit with 3:30 remaining.
Uchenna Egekeze led Huntley with 14 points and hit three 3s. Ryan Sroka hit a pair of 3s and scored 12, Cory Knipp had three 3s and 11 points.
Dundee-Crown 58, Prairie Ridge 45: At Carpentersville, Jordan Hairston scored 18 points to lead the Chargers (12-11, 8-4) past the Wolves (8-15, 4-9).
Gabe Bergeron added 12 for D-C, which climbed above .500 for the first time since early in the season.
Connor Kazin and Michael Patterson each scored 11 points for the Wolves. Jack Hoyland added nine points on three 3s.
Marian Central 47, Harvest Christian 43: At Woodstock, A.J. Golembiewski tossed in 20 points as the Hurricanes (9-16) won their nonconference game over the Lions.
Kevin Herbst added eight points for Marian.
