High school boys basketball roundup: Huntley, Crystal Lake Central pick up FVC victories

Johnsburg's Toussaint scores 25 in win over Woodstock

Ryan Sroka and Uchenna Egekeze each scored six points as part of a 20-point first quarter Tuesday to help Huntley take control early in its 67-55 Fox Valley Conference win over Hampshire in Huntley.

Cory Knipp led the Red Raiders (6-19, 2-11 FVC) with 18 points, Sroka supplied 15 points, and Egekeze scored 14. Patrick Roppolo added seven points, and Ryan Crosby drained two 3-pointers for six points.

Collin Woods scored a team-high 14 points for Hampshire (5-20, 1-12), Nathan Cork posted eight points, and Jonathan Westerlund had seven points.

Crystal Lake Central 50, Crystal Lake South 44: At Crystal Lake, the Tigers secured their fourth straight FVC win behind 19 points from Alex Timmerman.

C.J. Lerum provided Central (15-10, 9-5 FVC) with 15 points, and Deonta Dungey hit two 3s for six points.

Tyler Haskin scored a team-high 12 points for South (9-14, 5-8), Kyle Leva scored seven, and Jonathan Holloway had six.

Burlington Central 64, Marengo 60: At Burlington, the Indians led by four with 1:24 left but were unable to hold on against the Kishwaukee River Conference leader.

Blaine Borhart led the way for Marengo (13-9, 4-5 KRC) with 13 points. Nick Wascher, Alex Schirmer and Alejandro Rodriguez each chipped in 10 points, and Aidan Smith scored nine points.

Burlington Central (22-2, 9-0) remained two games up in the loss column on Johnsburg in the conference race.

Johnsburg 68, Woodstock 54: At Woodstock, the Skyhawks (14-11, 7-2 KRC) got 25 points from Zach Toussaint in their KRC win over the Blue Streaks. Toussaint hit three 3s and was 10 of 11 from the free-throw line.

Brody Frazier added 17 points and Mason Sobiesk scored 16. Sobiesk was 10 of 12 at the line.

Carl Anderson topped Woodstock (6-15, 2-6) with 13 points.

Richmond-Burton 61, Woodstock North 37: At Richmond, Jeff Jankowski led the Rockets (15-12, 7-3 KRC) with 14 points in their KRC victory.

Kyle Townsend and Mark Marzahl each scored nine for R-B.

Joe Grover scored 10 points to lead the Thunder (6-15, 2-6).

Williams Bay 82, Harvard 61: At Williams Bay, Wisconsin, Jesse Oros tossed in 16 points and Pablo Peralta added 15 for the Hornets (5-20) in their nonconference loss.

Oros made four 3s and Peralta added three.
