To the Editor:
In response to the Rev. Scott Barrettsmith’s brief letter to the editor on March 1, I believe that he and I have a very different belief as to who is an American hero. Any individual or president who has harassed and abused women, avoided the draft five times claiming bone spurs, committed chronic lies yet calls others liars and claims “fake news,” did not condemn foreign interference in our government, and demonstrated racial bias is not an American hero.
Our soldiers – such as Sen. John McCain – 911 firefighters and police officers, as well as many other unknown individuals who put themselves out there to help and save others, are the true heroes.
Maybe the reverend needs to stick to preaching religion instead of politics.
