On Saturday, Breaking Bread hosted its inaugural Sub Club Challenge while raising donations for the Cary Food Pantry. Eight participants had 20 minutes to eat three subs, a pound of fries and a pound of potato salad. Although close, the challenge remains undefeated.

Community members and friends cheered on contestants.

Breaking Bread will be accepting donations for the food pantry during the month of May. Donations can be dropped at 638 Route 14, Cary, or 230 W. Virginia Ave., Suite 250, Crystal Lake. Customers will receive a 10 percent discount when making a donation.
