To the Editor:
The 2018 general election voting season began Aug. 8. That is the first day a registered voter can apply for a mail-in ballot.
Call the McHenry County Clerk’s Office at 815-334-4242 or check the clerk’s web page through the county’s website at www.mchenrycountyil.gov.
The clerk will mail your ballot to you three weeks before the election, providing time for you to research before voting. You can then mail your ballot back to the clerk or hand deliver it. Vote at home! Couldn’t be easier! No excuses for not voting, it’s your duty!
The first day to vote at the clerk’s office is Oct. 10.
The last day for online voter registration is Oct. 21.
The first day for early voting is
Oct. 22, and Nov. 5 is the last.
These opportunities are available to make voting easier. You no longer need to panic on Election Day, Nov. 6, because you can’t get to the polls.
