The Woodstock School District 200 Board is accepting applications to fill a vacant seat.
Board member David Shinherr has resigned after six years of service to relocate to another state for a job.
“David Shinherr has been a champion for our schools, for our students and for our community. We sincerely appreciate his leadership and service to District 200,” Superintendent Mike Moan said in a statement.
A replacement candidate will be appointed at the Nov. 13 board meeting and will serve until the April 2 election. Candidates must be citizens of the U.S., registered to vote and at least 18 years old. It is required that candidates have lived in Illinois and the school district for at least a year.
Interested applicants should submit their name, address, résumé and a statement no longer than two typed pages indicating the reasons why they are interested in serving on the board.

The deadline for submitting applications for the seat is Nov. 9. Candidates will be interviewed the night of Nov. 13.
