“We didn’t feel anybody out,” Forsythe said. “We got that turnover and were able to run the football. It all starts with that. We had some chunk plays in the first half. Those help a lot. When you get chunk plays, and you use tempo, it creates more chunk plays when you go fast. Any time you have that and you’re calling plays, it makes life a lot easier.”
Marengo built a 34-0 lead by halftime.
“We focused on our 70 percent, what we can control and came in here and took it to them,” Heinberg said. “All that work has paid off, all that work in the offseason we did, all that grinding. Everything we’ve done has paid off and it’s amazing.”
The Indians are not shying away from the defending champion Knights.
“We’re in good shape,” Knaak said. “I’m excited for next week. We have a good opportunity in front of us.”
