February Sky to headline Second Sunday concert

McHenry County College’s Second Sunday concert will feature folk singers February Sky this week.

The concert starts at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Luecht Conference Center, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake, according to a news release from the college.

February Sky, based in Trout Lake, Michigan, features traditional singer and Celtic guitarist Phil Cooper and songwriter and singer Susan Urban.

Cooper sings and plays his own arrangements of traditional songs on a six-string guitar and cittern.

Urban is known for humorous “slice of life” songs, and accompanies her singing on guitar, six-string banjo, mountain dulcimer and hand percussion instruments.
