To the Editor:
Just imagine the founders’ utter disgust observing the state of our union in this new millennium.
“Life, liberty ... ” have summarily been discarded in favor of third-trimester infanticide sanctioned by mindless legislatures in New York and several other states, and supported by a Virginia governor. Perhaps Margaret Sanger and Kermit Gosnell will enjoy national stardom on U.S. coinage for future generations.
Criminal distortion, intellectual dishonesty and journalistic malpractice have supplanted the once-proud mainstream press; check with Brett Kavanaugh and the Covington Catholic High School students for confirmation. Objective reporting, the idea today seemingly laughable at its core, finds itself hijacked by small-town, gossip-mongering busy bodies masquerading as national “news anchors” married to talking points crafted by terminally biased script writers. Trust after you verify.
Newly elected representatives caterwauling for a 70 percent tax rate and wealth confiscation in the spirit of wanton socialism should study up on the debacle in progress in Venezuela, a high-speed train wreck victimized by those very policies. No doubt they’d experience extensive difficulty finding that country on a map.
Making America great again ( ... loosely labeled a “racist” slogan by pathetic, attention-starved Svengalis …) falls to each and every concerned citizen. Should we ignore the crucial challenge to our noble experiment in self-governance, this “pursuit of happiness” purchased with the blood of selfless patriots becomes yet one more pitiful footnote in history.
