3 newcomers elected to Marengo Park District Board

Three individuals were elected to the Marengo Park District Board Tuesday night.

Veronica Kearney, Martin Mohr and Donald Bottcher were each elected to a four-year term.

With seven out of seven precincts reporting and 1,596 votes cast, Kearney won about 30% of the vote with 479 votes. Mohr followed with about 26% and 414 votes. Bottcher came in third with about 22% and 356 votes.

There were three open seats and residents could vote for up to three candidates on their ballots.

Teresa Paulauski came in a close fourth with a little less than 22% and 347 votes.

“Thanks to everyone who voted, displayed a sign, endorsed me or gave a word of encouragement,” Mohr posted on Facebook.
