Letters to the Editor

Letter: Finally, some progress

To the Editor:

Finally, a balanced Illinois budget. Finally, a capital construction plan to address Illinois’ crumbling infrastructure. Finally, an increase of $379 million for elementary and high schools in Illinois.

Finally, $53 million more for Illinois’ neglected universities.

Finally, an additional 300 caseworkers for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Finally, an opportunity to vote on a constitutional amendment for a graduated fair tax so all Illinoisans will pay their fair share of income tax to support our state budget.

The list of additional accomplishments continues and is quite impressive.

Finally, after four years of gridlock under a do-nothing governor, we now have Gov. J.B. Pritzker and a Legislature willing to address the needs of working families in our state.
