To the Editor:
The following are recent news items I found in the Northwest Herald or questions I need answered.
Real estate transactions: Why don’t they just organize them by price in each town? That way we can just go to the end of the town’s postings to see who spent the most?
Disgraced Gliniewicz (March 16): To refer to him as a police officer is a disgrace to our fine protectors in blue. In any reference to him, he should be labeled as disgraced police officer Joe Gliniewicz. Quit linking him to the village he embarrassed and start calling him what he is.
DCFS: In “high risk” cases with filth, cockroaches, animal feces, lack of food combined with unsubstantiated injuries, overseen by drug addicts, DCFS should yank those children out of their environment until basic livability returns to the household and a judge places them back. This coming from a foster child myself from the age of 12.
Franks: Shame on Jack Franks for outing another politician’s veteran’s disability for the sake of furthering his own political cause.
Dear Abby (March 20): A couple can’t decide whether to pay 50/50 or 60/40 for a vacation with another family. Really? Have all the personal problems been so solved to where Abby’s now a vacation planner? Is it really easier to talk to Abby than your spouse or the other couple? I mean really?
It’s easier to look cute when you’re 5 feet tall as opposed to 6 feet tall. It’s easier to wrap a small Christmas present as opposed to a large one.
If you’re having trouble setting goals, read the third or fourth paragraphs in obituaries. See what others did with their lives. Don’t look at the sadness of their death. Look at the joy of what made them happy.
