McHenry County Sheriff's Office announces Fourth of July ticket campaign results

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office announced the Independence Day “Click it or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” mobilization results.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Office issued five DUI arrests, two seat belt citations, a no valid drivers license arrest, 97 speeding citations, and 17 no insurance citations, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Across Illinois, other state and local law enforcement agencies participated in the effort to reduce highway fatalities by cracking down on unbuckled drivers and impaired drivers during the July 4th holiday, according to the release.

The mobilization was funded by federal traffic safety funds through Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the nationwide “Click it or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaigns, according to the release.
