SEECOM training program nationally re-certified

SEECOM is 1 of 4 Emergency Communications Centers in state nationally certified

Southeast Emergency Communications has successfully received Agency Training Program Certification from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International.

This national certification is a formal process that ensures SEECOM has a training program that meets or exceeds national standards as specified in the association’s American National Standards.

SEECOM submitted its training manual, training records, policies and supporting documentation, which underwent a thorough review from the association.

On July 2, the association confirmed that their evaluation found the program met the specifications set forth in the national standard.

“Successfully attaining APCO’s Agency Training Program Certification clearly demonstrates an agency’s commitment to the citizens and public safety responders they serve,” said Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International President Holly Wayt.

SEECOM is one of four Emergency Communications Centers in Illinois to be listed as having its training program nationally certified and one of less than 100 across the country.

This is the second consecutive three-year certification for SEECOM.

“I am extremely proud of the continued hard work and commitment from our training team and public safety telecommunicators,” Executive Director Jason Kern said. “Their daily desire to provide a high level of service for the communities we serve is evident in this certification.”
