Mackenzie Aldridge, Crystal Lake South, sr. – Aldridge earned Class 2A All-State honors with her 19th-place finish in the IHSA Girls Cross Country State Meet. She had an outstanding year, winning the Fox Valley Conference Meet and Woodstock Regional and leading the Gators to the state meet as a team. She was a Northwest Herald All-Area first-team pick.
Morgan Dieschbourg, Cary-Grove, jr. – Dieschbourg took fifth in the FVC Meet and helped the Trojans to the Class 3A State Meet as a team when she was 13th at the Hoffman Estates Sectional. She took 74th at state, which was second for the Trojans.
Chelsea Gale, Prairie Ridge, jr. – Gale was a Class 2A All-Stater for the second consecutive year, after taking 13th in the state meet and helping the Wolves to third place as a team. She battled through a slight hip injury early in the season and was third in the FVC Meet and third in the Woodstock North Sectional. She repeated as an All-Area first-teamer.
Maggie Mason, Cary-Grove, jr. – Mason was runner-up in the FVC Meet and finished seventh in the Hoffman Estates to help the Trojans get to the state meet. At state, she had C-G’s highest team finish at 52nd. Her state time at Detweiller Park (17:38.80) was the fastest by any area girl on the course that day. She was an All-Area first-team selection.
Kylie Smith, Crystal Lake Central, jr. – Smith took sixth in the FVC Meet and was 11th in the Class 2A Woodstock North Sectional, earning her a trip to the state meet. She took 40th in the Class 2A state race and was named to the All-Area second team.
