The Crystal Lake Police Department will participate again this year in the annual Toys for Tots toy collection drive.

Effective immediately, toys may be donated at the Crystal Lake Police Department, 100 W. Woodstock St. Participants are asked to drop off new and unwrapped toys in the Toys for Tots box located in the lobby. The department’s lobby hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The department’s lobby is closed on weekends and holidays. Toys may be donated through Dec. 18, officer Sal Alfano said in a news release.

Donated toys are distributed to children in McHenry County, he said. For information, contact Alfano, the police department’s police community relations officer, at 815-444-5956 or salfano@crystallake.org. For information about the Toys for Tots program, visit www.toysfortots.org.
