Cary computer shop burglarized again, police say

Suspects entered business by force, stole electronics

Cary police officers discovered Saturday morning that three men forced their way into a business and stole electronics worth about $7,800, according to the Cary Police Department.

Officers responded about 5:24 a.m. to a burglar alarm that was activated at Cary Grove Computers, 115 E. Main St. Upon arrival, officers found evidence of forced entry.

A review of video surveillance from the business revealed that three black men of unspecified age ranges broke into the business, stole the items and left the scene traveling east on Route 14, according to a news release sent Saturday afternoon.

The alarm system notified the business’ owner of the break-in via a phone notification, Cary Deputy Chief Scott Naydenoff said.

The suspects fled the scene in a silver GMC Yukon with North Carolina plates labeled FLW 2349. Naydenoff said they think the vehicle is a rental.

Authorities said they believe there was a fourth suspect who remained in the vehicle during the burglary. Officials are investigating the incident.

This is not the first time Cary Grove Computers has been burglarized. Early in December, another burglary involved a man stealing iPad boxes that ended up being empty.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Cary Police Department at 847-639-2341 or Cary-Grove Area Crime Stoppers at 800-762-7876.
