Parents can currently register their children for kindergarten in Crystal Lake District 47 schools online.
This can be done on the district's website at www.d47.org/kindergarten.
Those who want to register in person can do so at the Core Center at 300 Commerce Drive in Crystal Lake.
In person registration will take place from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., 1 p.m.-2:45 p.m and 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb.12 and Thursday, Feb.13.
Parents and guardians should plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the end of each session to allow sufficient time to register.
To able register for kindergarten, a child must turn 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020.
The following documentation is needed to enroll a child for kindergarten in District 47: an original birth certificate, (hospital certificates are not acceptable) and an accepted form of proof of residency.
Fees and student physical/immunization forms aren't at the time of registration.
In addition, parents interested in enrolling their child(ren) in District 47’s Dual Language program must attend a mandatory informational meeting. The dual language program is offered at Canterbury Elementary, Coventry Elementary and North Elementary School, as well as Hannah Beardsley and Lundahl Middle Schools.
All meetings on the dual langauge program will be held at the CORE Center. The dual language meetings are from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in English and 10:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. in Spanish on Tuesday, Feb. 4; from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in English and 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in Spanish on Thursday, Feb.6; from noon to 1 p.m. in English and 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.. in Spanish on Monday, Feb. 10; and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in English and 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in Spanish on Wednesday, Feb.19.
