Raue Center for the Arts is thrilled to welcome WGN Radio personality John DaCosse as the newest host this season at Lucy’s Comedy Café!
The 2017-18 season opens on Friday, July 28 with an 8:30 p.m. show in downtown Crystal Lake, with headliner Mike Toomey as well as Shawn Shelnutt and Mike Preston.
Now in it’s eighth season, Lucy’s Comedy Café is one of Raue Center’s longest running programs. The cornerstone of its comedy programming sells out almost every event.
Event curator John DaCosse has developed a solid reputation nationwide during his 30-plus years in stand-up comedy. He has opened for big name celebrity comedians like Ellen DeGeneres, George Lopez, Craig Ferguson and Billy Gardell.
DaCosse has appeared on NBC, Comedy Central and TBS, and has also served as an audience warm-up for Rosie O’Donnell and The Oprah Winfrey Show. He can be heard, along with his character voices, regularly on the Steve Cochran morning show on WGN Radio.
This hilarious series features amazing regional and national comedians, which has previously included Dwayne Kennedy, Rocky LaPorte, Patti Vasquez, John DaCosse, Mike Preston, Pat Tomasulo, Tim Benker and so many more!
Additional monthly performances scheduled for Aug. 18, Sept. 15 and Nov. 17.
Advance tickets are $20, and $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at www.rauecenter.org, or through the Box Office at 815-356-9212 or 26 N. Williams St. in downtown Crystal Lake. The box office is open Monday through Saturday from Noon to 4 p.m.
