Every year, millions of parents across the country are determining which youth sports program is best for their young athlete. Sports play such a huge role for children, and finding a positive athletic program can either make or break their future participation in sports. This is why over 750,000 parents across the country have decided to participate in the largest Christian youth sports organization called Upward Sports.
Established over 20 years ago, Upward Sports is the only youth sports program to offer the 360 Progression™ program. This uniquely designed sports experience adapts and expands as players grow, resulting in the development of total athletes – mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially. Today, approximately half a million players at more than 2,000 churches in 47 states participate in Upward sports.
Since 2009, Upward Sports at Immanuel Lutheran Church/School in Crystal Lake has been serving the community as a sports ministry dedicated to providing kids a safe and nurturing place to grow in character, confidence, faith, and sportsmanship. “Upward has nice and friendly teammates and teaches us about God and basketball,” said 10-year-old Juliana B. of Crystal Lake. Coach led devotions at practice and post-game sessions of acknowledgement and encouragement are tools used to fortify a child’s foundation and promote growth.
“Upward at Immanuel uses a great sports experience to assist families in building a strong foundation,” said Karl Storz of Crystal Lake, father of three players and a nine-year Upward coach. 500+ players participate in two basketball sessions at Immanuel: Kindg-8th grade girls and Kindg-1st grade boys in the fall; 2nd-8th grade boys in the winter.
