Is getting your children to brush their teeth a daily battle? There’s an app for that. Several of them, actually.
The American Dental Association recommends brushing twice a day for two minutes. And these days, you can find several apps to help kids beat the boredom when it comes to doing just that.
For instance, Disney, in collaboration with Crest and Oral-B, has designed a brushing timer which rewards kids for doing a good job by revealing hidden Disney and Marvel characters the longer they brush. Of note: the Disney Magic Timer app requires the use of a Crest or Oral-B Pro-Health product.
Brush DJ is a free toothbrush timer app that plays two minutes of music from the user’s device to encourage brushing for an effective length of time, according to the Brush DJ website. The app also allows users to set reminders to brush twice a day, floss, use a mouth rinse and when next to see their dentist, hygienist, therapist or orthodontist.
The Brush Up™ app is a toothbrush training game for kids which includes characters, music and a Selfie Assessment™.
You can also rely on help from Lake in the Hills-based Compassionate Dental Care. Dr. Tim Stirneman and his team are happy to work with children to learn the best ways to brush and floss, as well as answer questions about other oral health concerns unique to developing smiles.
The family-friendly practice also offers a variety of treatments specifically geared toward helping kids develop strong, healthy teeth and keep them for life, including dental sealants and fluoride treatments.
If you’re battling the brush, download an app and schedule an appointment for your child with Compassionate Dental Care today.
