Want to Improve Your Career Satisfaction? Start with Training

Whether you’re underemployed or looking to change occupations, career experts recommend pursuing additional training to reach the next level in your career. Earning a certificate or degree can often equate to an immediate bump in pay or a promotion at work, while staying up-to-date on the latest processes, procedures, and technologies can improve your performance on the job.

The Fast Track Program at McHenry County College is a great way to receive effective, convenient training at an affordable cost. Fast Track delivers the opportunities you need to gain a competitive advantage in the workplace by offering professional certificates and degree programs at an accelerated pace.

Through the Fast Track Program, MCC offers certifications in Manufacturing Management, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, and Business Management, many of which can lead to earning an AAS degree in two to four years. MCC also offers certificates in CNC Machining, Welding, Architectural and Engineering Design, and Industrial Maintenance. The Business Management AAS is also offered online.

“MCC’s Fast Track welding program is top notch,” said Matt Colby, welding technician student at MCC. “From the coordinators to the instructors, everyone is focused on putting students in positions for success.”

The programs are popular with both working adults and traditional students. A major draw is scheduling.

“Fast Track worked great for me because I was able to work during the day and take classes at night,” said Jayson Slepcevich, architectural and engineering design technology student at MCC.

“The Fast Track degree helps our busy students with their home and work balance,” said Sherry Ridge, instructor of business and Business Department Chair. “We welcome the celebratory emails and phone calls from our graduates when they tell us about the success they’ve achieved with new career opportunities, raises, promotions, or moving to a 4-year university.”
