High school sports roundup for Tuesday, Oct. 15

Crystal Lake Central coach Jay Schwarzrock felt like his team could not get the lucky bounce it needed for most of its game against McHenry.

Yet it was a fortuitous ball that fell right in front of Joey Cummings in overtime, and Cummings put his shot in the net for a 3-2 Fox Valley Conference boys soccer victory Tuesday.

The Tigers (10-5-2, 6-3 FVC) took a shot that was saved, then the ball bounced off a couple of defenders before landing in front of Cummings.
