Police have found 89-year-old Frank Hyden, who had been reported missing by his family Thursday, according to the Crystal Lake Police Department.
"Very early this morning, missing senior Frank Hyden was located by the Lake in the Hills Police Department driving his vehicle in their jurisdiction," Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Derek Hyrkas said Saturday. "As a precautionary measure, he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation."
Hyden's family reported him missing Thursday when he failed to arrive at a family member’s home in Woodstock.
Crystal Lake police said they suspected that Hyden became lost on the way. Family last had spoken to Hyden about 5:30 p.m. Thanksgiving when he was home in Crystal Lake.
Hyrkas said police still were "piecing together" where Hyden had been since he was reported missing.
The Silver Alert issued through the Illinois State Police was canceled Saturday.
