High school sports roundup for Wednesday, Dec. 4

Cooper LePage tossed an alley-oop dunk to Damir Glamoc in a 21-point third quarter for Crystal Lake South on Wednesday in a 60-37 win over Prairie Ridge in the Fox Valley Conference opener for both teams at Prairie Ridge in Crystal Lake.

Glamoc scored a game-high 18 points for the Gators (4-1, 1-0 FVC), Tyler Miller had 13 points, and Brock Jewson and Casey Haskin tossed in six points apiece.

Connor Lydon and Mason Loucks led Prairie Ridge (0-5, 0-1) with 11 points apiece. Loucks had two 3s, and Ryan Goudschaal added six points.

Hampshire 72, McHenry 51: At Hampshire, Nick Erickson had 18 points and two 3s to lead the Whip-Purs past the Warriors in FVC play. Jackson Milison chipped in 15 points for Hampshire (2-3, 1-0).

Collin Woods had 10 points, Adam Ugochukwu had seven, and Keynan Davis had six for the Whips. Hampshire shot 78.3% (18 of 23) from the free-throw line. Milison made all nine of his attempts.

McHenry (0-5, 0-1) was led by Brett Loeding with 14 points and Anthony Fowler with 13, including three 3s. Matt Gallimore had nine points and two 3s.

Marengo 64, North Boone 26: At Poplar Grove, Matt Volkening scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Indians (4-1) to a nonconference win over the Vikings. Brady Cannon and Mitch Kunde had nine points apiece for Marengo.

Evan Shepard and Aiden Smith both had eight.

Genoa-Kingston 63, Harvard 46: At Genoa, Damon Mueller had 14 points and two 3s in the nonconference loss for the Hornets (0-5). Austin Kohley added 11 points, and Nolan Frenk had six for Harvard.

Jacobs 64, Crystal Lake Central 40: At Algonquin, the Golden Eagles (4-1, 1-0) beat the Tigers (1-4, 0-1) in their FVC opener.

Oregon 64, Harvard 39: At Harvard, Mueller led all scorers with 17 points and two 3-pointers in the nonconference loss for the Hornets. Christian Rojas chipped in six points.


Harvard 40, Elgin 23: At Harvard, the Hornets improved to 5-2 with a win over Elgin. Lauren Shafer led the Hornets with 10 points. Dinah Harter and Haily Hill tossed in eight points apiece, and Lindsey Shafer had seven.

Woodstock North 46, Genoa-Kingston 32: At Woodstock, Abby Hartmann scored 20 points for the Thunder (3-3) in a nonconference win. G-K cut North's 24-16 lead at halftime to three points in the third quarter, but North responded with a 13-0 run to put the game out of reach.

Antioch 54, Richmond-Burton 36: At Antioch, the Rockets lost their third straight game. Peyton Bannon had 17 points, and Rachel Baker tossed in 10 points for R-B (2-3).

Marengo 66, Round Lake 35: At Marengo, Jennifer Heinberg had 18 points and four 3-pointers for the Indians (5-2) in a nonconference win over the Panthers. Heinberg was 6 for 6 on free throws.

Lilly Johnson and Jordan Parker both had 11 points for Marengo. Gracie Gentleman had eight points, and Adriana Georgiades added six.


Marengo 2,961, Huntley 2,823: At Bowl-Hi Lanes in Huntley, Kyle Peters rolled a 288 game for Marengo in the win over Huntley. Alex Wigman led the Indians with a 668 series and a high game of 234. Peters had a 662 series.

Johnsburg 2,728, Woodstock 2,428: At Raymond's Bowl in Johnsburg, Evan Halverson rolled the high series (607) and high game (227) for the Skyhawks in a victory. Mike Brengman added a 557 series, including a high game of 215. Blake Radtke rolled a 542 series, followed by Jon Arnold (537).

Austin Arndt (527) and Brady Caldwell both bowled high games of 211 for Woodstock. Ki Norgard had a 505 series.


Marengo 2,520, Huntley 2,384: At Bowl-Hi Lanes in Huntley, Olivia Pribyl had the high series (601) and high game (216) in the win for Marengo. Dani Hartmann had a 562 series for the Indians.
