Letters to the Editor

Letter: President Trump should not be a 'name-caller'

To the Editor:

Children have been known to voice a simple response when confronted by a bully: "name-caller". They've been known to respond by saying, "sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me."

In a similar way, the House impeachment managers in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial were confronted by a name caller's verbal attacks after the trial.

The team members were characterized as sleazebags, scum, crooked, evil and corrupt – by the president.

Trump called them corrupt at no less than the National Prayer Breakfast. The acceptance of the acquittal by the president would have sufficed.

So much for civility. Names will never hurt anyone!
