To the Editor:
The 22nd Amendment to the United States Constitution sets a limit on the number of times an individual can be elected President of the United States, and also sets additional eligibility conditions for presidents who succeed to the unexpired terms.
It is limited to two elected terms for eight years, or 10 years if they succeed in an unexpired term.
Trump has stated a number of times he could be president forever.
If Trump is re-elected in November and he has the same Republican Senate he has now, or an all-Republican Senate, he will overturn the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution. He will do this as sure as his mouth opens and another lie will come out.
Then the United States as we know it will forever more be dead and we will live under a dictatorial government.
This is why every vote is crucial.
