To the Editor:
OK, we have a virus problem, which is clearly in Cook County and the collar counties. The other 95 counties in Illinois do not have a serious problem, at all. Yet the governor extended the lockdown statewide.
He also said no summer plubic gatherings until a vaccine is OK'd, and only two people to a boat or two golfers at a time in the open air. And don't forget to stay home and wear a mask.
And now our governor wants to hire an army of contact tracers to watch us citizens and report us as violators. Nevermind our personal liberties or freedom.
Also, Illinois and other states report COVID-19 deaths that include problems from heart problems, respiratory ailments and other issues. You don't hear that being reported on the news. Also, any helpful medicine is quickly discounted as not a solution.
Without facts, they suggest another possible virus in the fall. In the meantime, Illinois residents are losing jobs, businesses are closing and our local economies are way down. Does our governor ever talk about these issues or suggest any positive solution?
Very little, he just tells us what not to do.
