Raue On Demand, Take Great Entertainment With You!

SPONSORED

Raue Center for the Arts prides itself on providing "Great Entertainment, Close to Home". In mid-May, after entering its second month of being closed to comply with state and federal mandates and to keep staff, volunteers, and artists safe, it became clear that everyone needed to get creative and figure out how to provide stellar entertainment while the doors remain temporarily closed.

On May 29th, Raue Center is going virtual with its long-standing Lucy's Comedy program, featuring Chicagoland favorites John DaCosse and Larry Reeb in the pilot episode. "We've presented regional, national, and international comics for almost two decades," said Richard Kuranda, Executive Director of Raue Center. "We've showcased legends like Joan Rivers and George Carlin, and regional favorites like Paula Poundstone, Jane Lynch, and our own Pat McGann. Now you can watch some of the world's comic stars on any device, at home or wherever you may be!"

The streaming comedy nights will be available for RaueNOW members as a membership bonus. Additional perks will include virtual audience participation, giveaways, talkbacks with comedians, specialty cocktail recipes, and more. To become a RaueNOW member, please visit rauecenter.org .

This is a huge step for us," added Kuranda. "We've recorded events for TV and Satellite Radio, but this is a bit different. We ll roll out OUR programming that will be entertaining and fun for our patrons. The comics have a lot to say about what's going on!” Raue Center hopes to build on these events and bring more content to the community in the coming weeks and months.

This is a horrible time in our country, but it will pass, and we will be stronger for it,” said Kuranda. I really believe the arts help people to heal and establish a new hope for the future. We hope people will come out and enjoy the arts and continue to support us through this.”
